okay, now I’m hungry…
There are so many delicious restaurants in Fayetteville that I’m surprised the city is not named Restaurant-ville. And we’re not talking just lots of fast food and big-name chains. With people from all over the world living here, Fayetteville is kind of like the tasty United Nations of eateries. You can possibly find everything from Albanian delicacies to Zimbabwe-type cuisine.
Some establishments do quite well and others fade quickly if they fail to please the public. It seems that even if a restaurant fails here, two more are ready to take its place. Since this diverse community has a treasure of culture and history, people are more than ready to set up shop. For example, a few years ago, a German bistro took over a very posh French café. You can imagine the nervousness of the Polish delicatessen that resided next door.
I know how you enjoy dishes from the Far East so you won’t be disappointed here either. There are lots of Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Thai businesses. Last week, yet another Chinese restaurant opened but this one is trying to be a little different. It serves knockoffs of all the other restaurants. While the prices are very inexpensive, the quality isn’t as good. There is also an Indian restaurant that specializes in a variety of curries. I understand that most of its food is outsourced. Closer to home, Fayetteville has an excellent Tex-Mex restaurant over by the mall. Although I do understand it has problems with its help who keep sneaking in the back from the Mexican restaurant located next door.
In any case, there is no shortage of excellent restaurants covering a wide price range – from the super fancy complete with valet parking to the ultimate backwoods diner where flip-flops and a mullet are mandatory. So come on over and get your feed bag on — several times. I should mention that there is tons of weight-control clinics and exercise businesses here as well.
