I do apologize, Kiwi, for offending you. It is all too easy for a stranger to gloss over loved one’s life when trying to point out dangerous practices, especially to teens who seem to think their immune from their mistakes. I didn’t mean to trivialize Morgan’s piloting skills or the importance of his life. In light of your completely unexpected e-mail, I will work to make Morgan anonymous somehow in this post as I get time. Again, I apologize to you and his family and friends.

Especially not a nice article to stumble upon (6th link on google) for those who had the pleasure of knowing and working with Morgan. He helped a great deal of people in his career, including in search and rescue. The real cause of the accident, as far as I’m aware, has not been made public. Yes he was texting during his flight but this has not been determined as the cause of the accident, or whether he was texting at the time of the crash. As the article said, it is not illegal and actually quite common. He was a very competent and professional pilot the many times we employed him and we all felt very safe with Morgan as our pilot.

Yes, I have a mental problem with people endangering their lives with stupid actions. Yes, the post is a tad distasteful and will hopefully catch the attention of someone before they do something stupid. Yes, I need help calling people’s attention to stupid behavior. Thanks for writing!

damn that’s pretty shitty..just read the article; thought it was a joke but shows people shouldn’t be texting while doing tasks such as this.
